ANIMATOR

Lizzy Bean's interest in animation develops from over ten years experience of working with drawing, collage and live art. In 2002 Lizzy was awarded a Hothaus bursary at VIVID, Media Arts Centre in Birmingham, to research video and animation techniques.

Combining original drawings with stop-frame animation and digital technologies, Lizzy has created several animations which explore a sense of place and space.

In 2003, Lizzy was invited to participate in Labculture, a week-long residency organised by PVA MediaLab at the Eden Project, Cornwall. She began work on an interactive family tree for the web, which mixes factual and fictitious characters with animations, archive footage and storytelling.

Book, a short animated piece of sympathetic magic, with sound by composer Iain Armstrong was screened at MAC, Birmingham in February 2005.
